Ambassador Rosan Roeslani

Rosan Perkasa Roeslani was sworn in as the 21st Appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the United States of America on October 25th, 2021, by H.E. President Joko Widodo.

Prior to this assignment, Ambassador Roeslani has held several leadership positions in the Indonesian business associations and communities. Among others, he served as the Chairman of Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry/KADIN (2015-2021). During his tenure as the Chairman of KADIN, the Government of Belgium awarded him the Commander in the order of Leopold of the Belgium as a recognition of his innovations and contributions in further advancing trade and industry relations between Indonesia and Belgium.

Born in Jakarta, December 31st, 1968, Ambassador Roeslani started his professional journey in the field of finance and entrepreneurship. His true passion in such fields, as well as nurturing Indonesian young business leaders and advancing a grassroots economy, has led him to hold several key positions at the early stage of his career, such as the Financial Advisor of the Association of Indonesian Batik Cooperation (1997-2002) and the Deputy Treasurer of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (2005-2008).

Ambassador Roeslani is among prominent figures in the finance and investment sectors of Indonesia. He has been involved in a number of strategic government initiatives as a key private sector representative including the Chief of Indonesian Omnibus Law on Job Creation Task Force (2019-2021) and the Chairman of National Board of Arbitration’s (BANI) Advisory Board (2019-2021). He is also a Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Sharia Economic Society Society’s (MES) Courtesy Board.

His exemplary passion in public service is well reflected in some of the key involvements in some of the major government-led programs, such as the Chief de Mission of the Indonesian Olympic Contingent for Tokyo Olympics 2020 (2021) and the Vice Chairman of the COVID-19 Response and National Economic Recovery Committee/KPC-PEN (2020-2021). He is also the Chairman of the Indonesian Weightlifting Association/PABSI since 2015.

Ambassador Roeslani studied Finance for his bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma (1988-1992) and received his MBA from European University, Antwerpen, Belgium (1993-1994). He is married with three children and an avid sea diver who also loves seafood.​
